L’enjeu principal de cette mission est l’identification et l’évaluation des différentes stratégies possibles pour la candidature transfrontalière du Massif du Mont-Blanc en vue de son inscription sur la Liste du Patrimoine Mondial de l’UNESCO. RC Heritage en coordination avec les autres équipes techniques, a donc analysé les implications des différentes options aux niveaux patrimonial, politique et administratif, afin d’arriver à définir une stratégie de préservation et de développement pour le site qui puisse concilier les exigences de l’UNESCO et les besoins des communautés locales.

La démarche suivie par RC Heritage pour la définition d’une stratégie pour cette candidature s’est concentrée, d’une part, sur la définition des éléments techniques permettant de définir une protection du territoire compatible avec son développement durable, et, d’autre part, sur une étroite concertation avec les autorités locales et les parties prenantes valdotaines.

Notre expérience de gestion de projets internationaux de grande échelle a favorisé la coordination avec les autres équipes internationales qui participent au projet et le dialogue avec les autorités régionales italiennes, ainsi que l’ensemble des partenaires qui soutiennent la candidature du Massif du Mont Blanc. Dans le cadre de cette mission, RC Heritage a non seulement participé à une série de réunions techniques avec le client et les deux groupes d’experts (suisse, français) mais a aussi animé des réunions publiques pour présenter les différentes options étudiées à la population locale.

The main challenge of this mission is the identification and evaluation of the various possible strategies for the cross-border candidacy of the Mont Blanc Massif for its inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List. RC Heritage, in coordination with the other technical teams, therefore analyzed the implications of the different options at the heritage, political and administrative levels in order to come up with a preservation and development strategy for the site that could reconcile UNESCO's requirements and the needs of local communities.

RC Heritage's approach to defining a strategy for this application focused, on the one hand, on defining the technical elements to define a territory protection compatible with its sustainable development, and, on the other hand, on close consultation with local authorities and stakeholders in Valdotaines.

Our experience managing large-scale international projects has fostered coordination with other international teams involved in the project and the dialogue with the Italian regional authorities, as well as all the partners who support the Mont Blanc Massif nomination. As part of this mission, RC Heritage not only participated in a series of technical meetings with the client by coordinating the activities of the two other groups of experts (Swiss, French), but also hosted public meetings to present the different options studied to the local population.
