Le Fond Africain pour le Patrimoine mondial (AWHF), centre UNESCO de catégorie II, a organisé en collaboration avec le Ministère de la Culture algérien un cours de formation sur la préparation des dossiers de candidature pour l’inscription sur la Liste du patrimoine mondial pour les pays arabophones d’Afrique.
Le programme – qui comportait des cours, des exercices pratiques, et des visites de sites algériens inscrits sur la Liste du Patrimoine mondial – visait à donner aux représentants des pays participants les outils intellectuels et pratiques permettant d’élaborer des dossiers de candidature selon les normes et les standards requis par l’UNESCO. Des experts en conservation et gestion de sites culturels et naturels provenant d’Afrique, d’Inde, d’Europe, de Jordanie et de l’UNESCO ont présenté les différents aspects de la Convention du patrimoine mondial de 1972 et ont revu en détail (par chapitre) le contenu et les points les plus sensibles et complexes des dossiers de candidature avec les participants.
La formation s’est déroulée à Alger en deux phases : la première du 8 au 18 décembre 2010, la deuxième du 17 au 25 septembre 2011. Les séminaires ont vu la participation de professionnels et de cadres provenant du Maroc, de Mauritanie, d’Algérie et du Soudan. RC Heritage était chargée de l’élaboration du programme du cours, de la coordination des interventions des autres formateurs et d’une partie des cours et des sessions de travail.

The African World Heritage Fund, a UNESCO Category II Centre, in collaboration with the Algerian Ministry of Culture, has organized a training course for the preparation of the World Heritage Nomination Files in the Arabic-speaking African countries.
The training – that included lectures, practical sessions and site visits to Algerian World Heritage Sites – aimed at giving the participants the technical and intellectual tools to comply with UNESCO requirements in the drafting of World Heritage Nomination Files. The trainers, experts in natural and cultural preservation and management coming from Africa, Europe, India, Jordan and UNESCO, discussed different aspects of the 1972 World Heritage Convention and presented, in detail (per chapter), the content and the approach to the drafting of the Nomination Files based on their rich and specific professional experience.
The programme was organized in Algiers in two steps: from 8th to 18th December 2010 and from 17th to 25th September 2011. Professionals and civil servants from Morocco, Mauritania, Algeria and Sudan attended the course. RC Heritage was in charge of the preparation of the course programme, of the overall coordination of the training course, and of tutoring part of the training.
