Following the preparation of the first three Saudi Nomination Files in 2006, 2010, and 2013, RC Heritage was requested to carry out an assessment of the situation on the field after inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

We first prepared an internal report for the Saudi Commission of Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) and a shorter version that was presented by the Government of Saudi Arabia to the World Heritage Committee in 2015.

RC Heritage also realized the State Of Conservation report for Historic Jeddah to comply with the request of the World Heritage Committee at the moment of inscription of the property in 2014. The SOC report was submitted to the UNESCO secretariat in January 2016, and reviewed at the 2016 World Heritage Committee in Istanbul.

The Monitoring Report presents the architectural, planning and conservation projects, as well as the management solutions applied in each site and details the differences between what was presented in the Nomination Files and the current situation on the field. It also includes paragraphs presenting the next steps planned, or being considered, for each property and the measures designed by SCTA and the other stakeholders to correct and improve the situation in order to comply with the requirements of the World Heritage Convention.

The SOC Report presents the efforts paid, and the results achieved, for the Conservation of Historic Jeddah, the Gate to Makkah after the inscription on the World Heritage List. It demonstrates that the inscription was instrumental in catalysing the efforts and in creating a new positive approach, at the national and local levels, placing Jeddah's urban heritage at the centre of the urban development policies.

Suite à la réalisation des trois premiers Dossiers de Candidature saoudiens pour les sites de al-Hijr, Medain Salih en 2006, At-Turaif District, ad-Dir'iyah en 2010, et Historic Jeddah, the Gate to Makkah en 2013, RC Heritage a été chargé de réaliser un rapport de suivi présentant la situation sur le terrain après l'inscription sur la Liste du Patrimoine Mondial de ces trois sites.

RC Heritage a d’abord préparé une version interne du rapport pour la Commission Saoudienne du Tourisme et des Antiquités (SCTA) et une version réduite qui a été présentée par l'Arabie Saoudite au Comité du Patrimoine Mondial en 2015.

RC Heritage a aussi préparé l'Etat De Conservation (SOC) de Historic Jeddah, the Gate to Makkah requis par le Comité du Patrimoine Mondial lors de l'inscription du site en 2014. Le SOC a été remis au secrétariat du Centre du Patrimoine Mondial en Janvier 2016 et présenté au Comité du Patrimoine mondial en Juillet 2016 à Istanbul.

Le Rapport de Suivi présente les projets architecturaux, urbains et de conservation, ainsi que les solutions de gestion mises en œuvre sur chaque site, et identifie les différences entre ce qui était prévu dans les Dossiers de Candidature et la situation réelle sur le terrain. Le rapport détaille aussi les prochaines actions prévues, ou en cours de réalisation sur chaque site par la SCTA et les autres partenaires, pour corriger et améliorer la situation et respecter les engagements pris en ratifiant la Convention du Patrimoine Mondial.

Le Rapport sur l'Etat De Conservation (SOC) de Djeddah détaille les efforts mis en œuvre et les résultats obtenus pour la conservation de Historic Jeddah, the Gate to Makkah suite à son inscription. Il démontre notamment que l'inscription a été essentielle pour catalyser les efforts et créer une nouvelle approche positive, aux niveaux local et national, qui a permis de placer le patrimoine architectural de Djeddah au centre des politiques de développement urbain.
